After windows update and restart, computer goes to black screen

I have a toshiba laptop with windows 7.
Ive only had it a few months.
After the new windows updates install and it restarts it goes to a black screen after the "starting windows" icon appears.
I have to turn it off by holding off for 5 seconds and then do
system restore and then it is ok until new updates install again.
At the system restore window i found some info that may help u helping me solve my problem.
