Cannot Install Windows 7 Security Updates

There are these two Windows 7 security updates that I cannot install.
The installation will get up to 12% and then pause for about 20 minutes and then finally say that the installation failed and is reverting back.
 The two updates are: Security Update
for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2887069) and Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2893294).
I found Microsoft's fixit software and tried that, but it did not fix anything.
I have searched all over Google and still cannot figure out
this problem.
All of the other updates install just fine.
I have the free version of AVG 2014 if that helps any.
