Create Recovery drive in Windows 8.

Original Title: Asus F202E Windows 8 Recovery DISK/USB Format and Install Winodws 8 (Clean Install Windows 8) Question.
 
Hello,

I have purchased an Asus F202E Windows 8 64 Bit laptop.
And CD's came with.
I have gone through the forum and understand we can create a recovery disk/usb using "Create a Recovery Drive" option under settings in Windows 8.  When I go through this process it is shown that USB drive needed is only 256 MB or bigger.
It doesn't make sense
to me.
I know that the whole OS is bigger than that.
Then why the recovery program is not backing up full?
My need is, in case in future I want to format and do a clean install of windows 8 can I use the above made Recovery USB to do it?
