Can not create system repair disk from Control Panel/Backup-Restore

From Backup and Restore in Control panel...I get the errors in the jpg attached ? The drive is working and I can add and delete files at random to the D: and/or E: drive.
Tried using regular CD's and DVD's.  I have tried both multiple cd's and dvd's in the
drive and can read and write & delete at will to all of them on either drivel.

Is there a way to resolve this...and if I have my original Win 7 Pro install DVD...do I need a system repair disk ?  Does it do anything that the original Windows 7 DVD doesn't do ?
