Tech Support: 3rd-Party Software Update Notification

3rd-Party Software Update Notification

How do 3rd party software, for example, Flash Player, trigger it's automatic update notification when I see nothing in Windows System Configuration's Startup tab, Start Menu's Startup folder and I don't see anything in Windows Scheduled Tasks or in Services
that is related to Flash Player??
I posted this question on the Adobe forums but haven't gotten a response.
Thanks,
James
